Sometimes you just need to pack up, and get out of the rain! That’s what we did this weekend anyway.
With the rain and cruddy weather getting us itching to get outside we packed up the van, hopped on the ferry, and headed for the only patch of western Washington that wasn’t forecasted to rain. Our travels on this trip took us to Dosewallips State Park on the Hood Canal. We were hoping to get out and do a little more adventureous hike, but the snow levels were still fairly low so we made due with what we could. There’s a beautiful trail that goes all the way up and around the park. We found waterfalls, a lightening struck tree, and plenty of beautiful things to see along the trail. If you’re in the area and looking for a nice little trail that won’t peter you out I’d highly recommend this one!
From there we made our way down to our home for the night at Belfair state park. Kim caught a nice afternoon snoozer, and Auden and I hit the shores for some epic rock skipping. This park is such a nice place to stay, and the sunsets are breathtaking!
The next day we had two goals. One, hit the Outdoor Research store in Seattle and then make our way to the Aquarium before heading home. Both delivered exactly as expected to round off another wonderful #vanatoli trip!
